TradeSmart

TradeSmart works by educating and equipping travel trade suppliers in Nova Scotia to employ principles responding to the Tour Operator and their needs. It helps to make Nova Scotia programming easier, more reliable and of the highest quality! It's a leading edge program and one of the first of its kind in North America.

TradeSmart helps the travel trade by profiling tourism suppliers who understand the importance of establishing and employing travel trade friendly business practices. These are suppliers who are willing to pay commissions, to provide net rates to wholesalers, and to maintain all the established standards of the TradeSmart program. A complete listing of Nova Scotia suppliers who are TradeSmart…Travel Trade Certified is available. Certification is available for three types of tourism suppliers: accommodations, attractions and day adventures – and for three types of travel trade business: motorcoach, small groups/specialty tours, and FIT packages.

Benefits to the Tour Operator:
• It assists the tour operator in identifying the suppliers in Nova Scotia who are ready to do business with them in the manner they expect.
• They are assured of dealing with a supplier who not only understands the needs of tour operators, but also is keenly interested in their business.
• The program acts as a medium through which the tour operator can voice concerns should a supplier fail to meet the agreed-upon arrangements.
