Evangeline Trail
Apple orchards, historic towns, farms, and fishing villages combine to shape this diverse scenic trail in Nova Scotia. Touring this trail means entering the world of the French pioneers of the early 17th century, the New England planters of the 1760s, and of the Loyalists of the 1780s, who flocked here following the American Revolution. Perhaps most poignant is the expulsion of Nova Scotia’s first settlers — the Acadians. The tragedy inspired Longfellow to pen the epic poem "Evangeline, A Tale of Acadie".
