The Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia is the area where the majority of Acadian Ancestors first took root. The deportation that began in 1755
scattered the Acadians as far away as Louisiana, England and France and as close to home as New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Quebec.
The Acadian culture and history is still thriving in Acadian villages and historic sites throughout Nova Scotia. Port Royal, where the French first settled in 1605 and Grand PrÈ, the site of a church commemorating the Acadian deportation and migration are but a few of the historic spots to visit with your group.
Share a taste of history and culture when Nova Scotia welcomes Acadians from around the world from July 31- August 15 in 2004, for the CongrËs mondial acadien 2004 . See full details on ABA’s Top Event in Canada for 2004 on page 124.
