Dr. Seuss National Memorial
The Springfield Library & Museums at the Quadrangle is home to the Memorial featuring five monumental bronze sculptures telling the story of Theodore Seuss Geisel by incorporating the words and characters of this famous authori-illustrator. The sculptures range in size from a four-foot tall Lorax to the life-sized elephant that dominates Horton Court. You'll also be able to enjoy the Yertle Garden, a Seussian landscaped area which will hold the 10' high Yertle the Turtle statue overlooking a granite reflecting pool, and a statue of Geisel working at his drawing board as the Cat in the Hat looks on. Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss was born in Springfield.
