First Unitarian Church
Nov. 23, 2004
Rich in history, this church was built in 1816. The most significant part of the church, the steeple bell, is the largest and heaviest bell cast by Paul Revere. With a serious fire in the church in 1966, it survived the total damage because of stone built walls and ancient system of heavy wooden beams. It has since been skillfully restored and has over 600 members. The church is open to public tours and has open services each Sunday morning.
