It has also left Labrador with vast amounts of natural resources that are being mined and harnessed. Labrador City is home to one of the largest iron ore deposits in North America. Churchill Falls is the location of one of the largest hydro electric generating stations in the world. And Goose Bay is home of the largest military air bases in Eastern Canada. Wildlife abounds in this area. Labrador is home to the largest caribou heard in the world, over 700,000. You will see a 7,500 year old Maritime Archaic Indian burial site, the oldest in North America. After crossing the Strait of Belle Isle, to Newfoundland you will travel to Gros Morne National Park. A UNESCO World Heritage Site for its unique geology and stunning views. This is only a sample of what you will see on this tour.

This tour originates in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Upon flying into Halifax you will enjoy a tour of the city and picturesque Peggy’s Cove. Next it is off to Northern New Brunswick for an overnight stay before travelling across the St. Lawrence River to Baie-Comeau, Quebec. After overnighting in Baie-Comeau you begin to travel north into the interior of Canada. After crossing Labrador you will take the ferry across to Newfoundland. From Newfoundland you will take another ferry back to Nova Scotia.
