A HEARTY CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST is included this morning at your lodging. Your LOCAL GUIDE will meet you at the lodge and will escort you to PLYMOUTH NOTCH, the birthplace and boyhood home of PRESIDENT CALVIN COOLIDGE. You will visit the historical museum, community church, cheese factory, schoolhouse, general store and cemetery where the President is buried. This afternoon tour the VERMONT MARBLE MUSEUM/EXHIBIT. Busts of nearly all the Presidents, the last supper, and other works can be viewed throughout the museum. Watch carving demonstrations and ask questions of local sculptors. A photo stop will be made at the GORHAM COVERED BRIDGE on your way to the NEW ENGLAND MAPLE MUSEUM. Take a trip through 200 years of maple sugaring history nestled in the foothills of the Green Mountains. DINNER is included this evening. |

A HEARTY CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST is included this morning at your lodging. After checking out your LOCAL GUIDE will meet you at your lodging and will escort you to QUECHEE GORGE, "Vermont's Little Grand Canyon" as you make your way to NEW HAMPSHIRE, the Granite State. Stops will be made at the BRICK COUNTRY STORE as well as the BATH COVERED BRIDGE. Enjoy lunch on your own in LITTLETON. You will then visit the LITTLETON GRIST MILL working museum where you can view the progression of grist mill technology from the 18th to the 19th century. Discover the sweet life and feel like a kid again with a visit to CHUTTERS. Fill you bag with childhood favorites from the "World's Largest Candy Counter". Next a stop will be made at the BASIN. See how a beautiful waterfall has eroded this pothole over the past 15,000 years. Below the basin is a water eroded rock formation called THE OLD MAN'S FOOT. Soar to the summit in the LOON GONDOLA, the longest sky ride in NH. Once at the top of Loon Mountain see artisans at work, climb the observation tower, and enjoy panoramic views from the deck of the Summit Cafe. Bid farewell to your guide and climb aboard the LAKE WINNIPESAUKEE SCENIC RAILROAD. Enjoy a NEW ENGLAND ROAST TURKEY DINNER while riding the rails along the shores of Lake Winipesaukee. (BYOB) |
