Canadian Museum of Civilization / Canadian Children’s Museum
Canada’s largest museum offers a thousand years of Canadian history, the world’s largest indoor collection of totem poles and the magnificent First Peoples Hall. It also houses an IMAX® Theatre, the Canadian Children’s Museum, the Canadian Postal Museum and special exhibitions. This interactive museum is open year-round and offers extensive school programs. Admission to the Theatre and to some special exhibitions is extra.

The architecture of the Canadian War Museum, with its grass-covered roof and angled walls evoking the instability of war, is breathtaking and, in itself, worth the visit. Dedicated to the education, preservation and remembrance of Canada’s military history, the Museum presents Canada’s rich military past – from pre-European settlement to the present day. Through the stories of men, women and children who lived through periods of conflicts, the Museum showcases the human side of war and provides a thought-provoking experience to visitors.

Less that 5km (3mi) from Parliament Hill your groups will find more than 1900 slot machines and close to 60 gambling tables, including blackjack, roulette, baccarat, and stud poker at Casino du Lac-Leamy. Get a glimpse of the official home and workplace of the Governor General of Canada at the historic residence Rideau Hall. Guided tours are offered on a daily basis in July and August and only on the weekends for the rest of the year.

The award winning architecture of the National Gallery of Canada, with the Great Hall and spacious galleries, is reason alone to visit the museum. But stay and look around at the permanent and temporary exhibits, home to the most comprehensive collection of Canadian art in the world. It also features a strong American Modern art collection, with some of Andy Warhol’s most famous work.
Enjoy a scenic rail tour through the picturesque Gatineau Hills to the quaint village of Wakefield on board the Wakefield Steam Train, Eastern Canada’s last operating steam train, which dates from 1907. The comfortable coaches have onboard tour guides and entertainers. The Wakefield Steam Trail is renowned for spectacular fall foliage excursions and its Sunset Dinner Train.
The Outaouais region also features the Rideau Canal—a UNESCO-designated World Heritage site. This 202 km corridor connects magnificent rivers, lakes, and canals. The Rideau Canal is North America’s oldest continuously operating waterway.
Val-des-Monts
With caves dating back 12,000 to 20,000 years and trails leading up in the sky through the trees with over 82 suspension bridges, the Aventure Lafleche is a great place for groups to learn and be active. Discover the largest natural cave in the Canadian Shield and learn more about the geological and historical evolution. The Aerial Park offers you some incredible views of the Laurentian forest.
Montebello
Park Omega takes you down a 10km (6mi) winding road in your vehicle, while you discover animals living in the wild. You will see animals such as the bison, deer, black bear, moose and wolves in their natural habitat. There is also a moose-observation walking trail to discover on foot.
The historic manor that once belonged to politician and lord of the Petite-Nation Louis-Joseph Papineau is now a historical site and offers guided tours of the magnificent interior. Visitors can also admire Papineau’s gardens —considered the largest in Quebec around 1860. The Manoir Papineau National Historic Site is open from May to October and occasionally accepts groups during the off-season.

Maniwaki
Aboriginal cultural attraction Mawandoseg Kitigan Zibi offers its visitors an interactive and educational experience. Discover the traditional way of life for the Anishinabeg from making drums to hearing traditional stories in a wigwam.
Château Logue Interpretive Centre is one of Maniwaki’s primary tourist attractions. It houses the Forest Fire Protection Museum, which provides an educational history of the relationship between humans, the forests and the fires. The interpretive centre is also home to traveling art exhibits, picnic areas and bilingual tours.
Take an aerial hike through a white pine forest at Forêt de l’Aigle. The pleasant walk will be led by a guide and the path through the trees varies from 6 to 20m in height.
