Nikkei Internment Memorial Centre
Dedicated to preserving the memory of the more than 20,000 Japanese Canadians who were forcibly relocated from the BC coast to remote internment camps during World War II. Located on the site of one of the ten original camps, this is the only site of its kind in Canada, and shows visitors the original internment shacks and other structures and items used by camp occupants, keeping the stories and memories of the camps’ occupants alive.
