Haida Gwaii/Queen Charlotte Islands
Haida Gwaii, (Islands of the People) or the Queen Charlotte Islands, are a tour destination on their own. Accessible by an 8-hour ferry crossing from Prince Rupert or by plane from Prince Rupert or Vancouver, the Haida Gwaii is well worth the trip, for unsurpassed natural beauty, First Nations culture, and outdoor adventure. Groups looking for authentic local art have come to the right place as well. Haida and non-Haida artists are found in every community on the Islands. The Islands are also home to the Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Protected Area recently named the best National Park in North America.
