Port Edward
North Pacific Cannery Village
Located on the salmon canning hub of the Skeena River, the North Pacific Cannery showed an impressive business history, operating all but two seasons between 1889 and 1968. Today the cannery has been restored by the Port Edward Historical Society, and includes 28 buildings on 18 hectares. Museum displays include life in the canneries, historical methods of fishing and processing, and one of the largest model railroad collections in Western Canada.
