Milk River
Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park
Featuring numerous native carvings (petroglyphs) and paintings covering sandstone cliffs, this park, located south-east of Warner protects the fragile reminders of the past. See the bizarre ‘Hoodoos’, columns of soft sandstone that appear to be gushing up out of the valley floor. The columns are fragile, and geologists sadly predict that few, if any, of them will remain through the next century.
