St. Albert

Father Lacombe Chapel Provincial Historic Site
Constructed in 1861 by Father Albert Lacombe and his Métis helpers, this simple chapel is the oldest standing log structure in Alberta, and was the centre of the Métis settlement of St. Albert. See the chapel much as it was in the 1860s, as interpretive guides lead you through this historic site.
