Grimshaw

Located at “Mile Zero” of the Mackenzie Highway that heads north to the Northwest Territories. The Mackenzie Highway Park and Arboretum has interpretive walking trails depicting the development of the Mackenzie Highway and it’s influence on the development of communities from Grimshaw to Indian Cabins, as well as educational arboretum.

Dunvegan Provincial Park
Located in nearby Dunvegan, on the site of historic Fort Dunvegan is a Provincial Park and Interpretive Centre containing seasonal displays and a gift shop. Guided tours available of the restored Hudson’s Bay Factor’s House (1878), St. Charles Catholic Mission Church (1885) and the Rectory (1889).

Lac Cardinal Pioneer Village
A perfect historical stop to see how people lived almost 75 years ago. Site includes fully restored pioneer’s homes, blacksmith shop, general store, barbershop and church. Authentic artifacts complete from the days of the homesteads.
