Amherst
Situated on the Nova Scotia/New Brunswick border, Amherst is the Gateway to Nova Scotia from all points west. Located along the Trans-Canada Highway, Amherst is Nova Scotia's busiest entry point and offers a full compliment of services and amenities for travelers. In addition to the Trans- Canada Highway, Amherst is the junction of Nova Scotia's Route #6 (the Sunrise Trail) and Route #2 (the Glooscap Trail).
Amherst has decided to celebrate art and history on a grand scale; bringing the town alive with color and activity. The Signature Mural, 55 feet by 35 feet, located on the old Bird's Drapery Building at the corner of Victoria and Havelock Streets depicts the Old Home Week Parade of 1910.
