The Shaker Museum
Just south of Lewiston and Auburn is the last active Shaker community in the country, the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village. A living history museum is on site, featuring tours, exhibits, workshops, special events and much more, depicting the Shaker way of life from the 1700s into this century. Of the 18 existing structures at Sabbathday Lake, 6 are open to the public.
