Shubenacadie Canal
Originally connecting Halifax Harbour with the Bay of Fundy through an intricate 115km (70mi) course of lakes and locks. Now broad trails border the banks of the Shubenacadie Canal with interpretive signs posted detailing the construction of the locks. The canal-side trails are mostly wheelchair accessible, run for 2.5km (1.5mi) on each side.
