Metro Cape Breton
Though small, this Cape Breton trail is not short on scenery or attractions. The Marconi Trail
connects Louisbourg, on the Fleur-de-lis Trail, to the mining town of Glace Bay - outside Sydney. It gets its name from Guglielmo Marconi, an Italian inventor who sent the first transatlantic wireless message from near Glace Bay in 1902. The trail winds its way around a rugged coastline, past parks and pretty fishing villages. Stopping places enroute include: Main-á-Dieu, the Mira River, Port Morien and, of course, Glace Bay.
