Oakville Museum at Erchless Estate
Situated in Downtown Oakville in Old Oakville’s Historic District, the Museum takes you back in time and showcases the history of the town and surrounding area. Learn about Oakville’s Black History, including the area’s role in the Underground Railroad, and view a collection of artefacts reflecting the history of Oakville including textiles, fine and decorative arts and more. Exhibits at the Museum change throughout the year, in addition to the many events held during the various seasons.
Oakville Galleries
Originally two galleries, Centennial Gallery and Gairloch Gallery, the two were joined in 1980 to form Oakville Galleries. The Galleries are home to a collection of more than 1,100 works of art which are valued at over $1.7 million including contemporary works by award winning Canadian artists Kim Adams, Gathie Falk, and Liz Magor. Additionally the Galleries offer changing exhibitions throughout the year.
