Brampton
Brampton is one of Canada’s fastest growing cities, and has even been declared an International Safe Community by the World Health Organization. Additionally, Brampton is home to several parks, lakes & beaches, trails, and conservation areas to get out and enjoy. Additionally, there are several golf courses and driving ranges in the area.
Brampton Farmer’s Market
A favourite with the locals, the Farmer’s Market is open each Saturday from mid-June to early October. Here you will find fresh local produce, crafts by local artisans, preserves (which make an excellent and tasty souvenir!), baked goods, and more. Located on a portion of Main Street, shut down to traffic, in Downtown Brampton, this is a must visit for your group.
Historic Bovaird House
The only historic residence open to the public in Brampton, stop in to enjoy a peek into the history of Brampton. The Georgian-type farmhouse was built in 1852 and was restored in the 1980s with a complete re-furnishing of the house in an 1850-1890s fashion. Today visitors can go away with a feel for
what it was like living in this time period. While visiting be sure to stop by the tea room and craft shop.
Peel Heritage Complex
Here you will find a diverse representation of the Peel region. Encompassing history, art and stories from Brampton and the surrounding areas of Caledon and Mississauga, the Complex is sure to give you an insight into the region’s past and showcase interesting and informative exhibitions. The Complex will be re-opening in Fall 2011.
