Northumberland Ferries
Departing from Caribou, Nova Scotia and Wood Islands, Prince Edward Island, on a schedule of about every hour and a half, the car ferries offer a pleasant respite. The 75-minute trip, spent enjoying a chat and a snack, lounging on the deck and soaking up the sunshine, sea air and even some
traditional "music on deck," is often considered a vacation highlight.

Have it both ways! Take the Bridge & the Ferry!
You can drive to Prince Edward Island in two ways: by the Confederation Bridge from New Brunswick, and by Northumberland Ferries from Nova Scotia. In both cases, fees are paid only when leaving the Island. You're welcome to arrive by ferry and leave by bridge, or arrive by bridge and leave by ferry!
The Confederation Bridge
A 12.9 kilometre (8 mi) engineering marvel, the Bridge is a very quick, convenient and dramatic way to arrive or depart the Island. The bridge is open 24 hours a day and takes approximately 10 minutes to cross. Connecting from New Brunswick, the Confederation Bridge brings you to the town of Borden-Carleton and the visitor center/shopping complex at Gateway Village. You can learn more about the Bridge at www.confederationbridge.com
