St. Lawrence Seaway & 1000 Islands
Once known as “Garden of the Great Spirit” by the original inhabitants, there are actually over 1,860 islands in the 1000 Islands Region steeped in the history of fur traders, United Empire Loyalists and rumrunners. The St. Lawrence River still serves as a supply route from the Atlantic Ocean to the Great Lakes as it did many years ago during the founding of Canada.
