Québec City
It is impossible to resist the charm of Québec City. Inside the walls of this UNESCO World Heritage Site lies four hundred years of history and culture, and the city often feels more like old-world Europe than modern Canada. Here, living well is an art.
Some of the city’s oldest areas, such as Place-Royal, can be found in the Lower Town, where enticing café’s and restaurants abound. A horse-drawn carriage ride through the cobblestone streets is an enchanting way to see the Upper Town.
Each year the city comes alive with the Québec City Summer Festival and the famous Carnaval, the world’s largest winter festival. The Montmorency Falls, just outside the towering at 83m (272ft), are also worth the visit.
