The Penitentiary Museum traces the history of Canada's federal penitentiary system. Housed in the former Warden's residence of Kingston Penitentiary, 8 rooms have been converted for display. Motorcoach parking and public washrooms are available on site. Admission is by donation to the "Friends of the Penitentiary Museum" charitable organization. Tours are self-guided and average approximately 45 minutes in length. The building is accessible to the first floor with a touch-screen "virtual tour" of the second floor via a kiosk.
