Information

A five-sided earthwork fort built by the French in 1751, it was taken in 1755 by the British in a battle for control of Acadia. Fort Beausejour saw action again in 1776 during the American Revolution when it was attacked by rebel sympathizers. It later defended the area during the War of 1812. Explore the stone ruins and grassy ramparts and view the interpretive paintings. Facilities include a visitor center with exhibits, a museum, a gift shop, and restored ruins including underground casements. Picnic facilities and seasonal guide services.
